MONTREAL, Dec. 4 -- ITF Optical Technologies Inc. has signed a major supply for the deployment of its 7-Sea couplers in undersea repeaters. ITF's couplers are passive optical components that combine, split or tap optical signals in optical amplifiers. The couplers use proprietary All-Fiber technology developed by ITF's researchers. According to the company, processing light in the fiber itself provides advantages such as ultralow insertion loss and polarization dependent loss over wide optical bandwidth.
