A joint venture of Gerber Systems Corp. of South Windsor, Conn., and Agfa, a division of Bayer Corp. of Ridgefield Park, N.J., will focus on the development and marketing of infrared imaging technology in the printed circuit board industry. The effort seeks to optimize direct-write film media and laser imaging technology by minimizing postprocessing steps and improving image quality, media handling and media availability. Gerber officials expressed optimism that combining resources would produce precise printed circuit boards in an ecologically safe environment.
