Fibertek Inc. has received a five-year $383 million Omnibus contract to support the US Army Communications and Electronics Command's Night Vision and Electronic Sensors Directorate at Forts Belvoir and AP Hill in Virginia, and at other contractor facilities.The company develops lasers and electro-optic sensor systems and provides support services to the Department of Defense. Fibertek's contract will support the day-to-day operations of the directorate in such areas as thermal imaging; focal plane arrays; lasers and optics/image intensification; image/signal processing and compression; electro-optics measurement and signal intelligence; mine detection and neutralization; sensor fusion; displays; and modeling/simulation.The award follows the company's engineering support services division's current Omnibus contract, which was granted in 1996.
