PORTLAND, Ore., April 6 -- A federal court jury has upheld the validity of Electro Scientific Industries, Inc.'s link blowing patent in the company's lawsuit against General Scanning, Inc. of Watertown, Massachusetts. The suit alleged that GSI infringed certain claims of ESI's patent for laser material processing. The next phase of the trial is the determination of damages by the jury.
