MARLBORO, Mass., Mar. 28 -- Data Translation Inc. reported total sales of $3,902,000 for the quarter ended February 29, 2000, which represented an increase of approximately one percent over the $3,857,000 recorded in the comparable quarter of fiscal 1999. Net income for the first quarter of fiscal 2000 was $24,000, or one cent per diluted share, compared with net income of $102,000, or five cents per diluted share one year earlier. Our first quarter financial results show our continued commitment to the expansion of our product lines with new and exciting offerings, said Fred Molinari, president and CEO of Data Translation. We've been able to sustain profitability while we grow the breadth of our Data Acquisition, Machine Vision, Imaging and Digital Video products. Our goal continues to be top-line growth in the upcoming quarters as a result of this increased product development.
