Red-C Optical Networks Ltd. of Tel Aviv, Israel, has selected Aegis Semiconductor of Woburn, Mass., to supply tunable optical detectors for its self-managed optical amplifiers. Aegis' detectors are tunable thin-film filters integrated with a single photodetector. They enable Red-C's Sentior 3550 erbium-doped fiber amplifiers to independently perform closed-loop spectral monitoring and analysis.
