LEXINGTON, Mass., Aug. 2 -- Raytheon Co. has been awarded a $34 million contract to provide the US Navy with spares for helicopter infrared laser detecting-ranging-tracking systems. The contract -- awarded by the Naval Inventory Control Point in Philadelphia, Penn. -- calls for Raytheon to deliver 68 spares for the AN/AAS-44 (V) system. The spares will include turret assemblies, electronic units and hand controls for the systems, which are deployed on Navy Light Airborne Multi-Purpose System (LAMPS) MK III SH-60B and HH-60H helicopters.
