CANTON, Mass., June 28 -- Robotic Vision Systems Inc. (RVSI) has received $1.85 million in orders from Intercon Technology Inc., a precision semiconductor tooling and systems manufacturer in Morgan Hill, Calif. The orders were for RVSI's Visionscape vision boards and related products.Intercon Technology uses the Visionscape 2644 vision processor board, and RVSI's high resolution imaging and lighting technology to check and manage Intercon's SBS-S solid BGA sawing system. The vision board allows Intercon to check the saw's alignment, chip size, and ensures that the ball grid array is undamaged and centered on each device. This is a partnership that has benefits for everyone, said Mark Tatkow, senior vice president of worldwide sales for RVSI's Acuity CiMatrix Division. The semiconductor industry is one of our key target vertical markets, and Intercon Technology's application requires a critical level of machine vision expertise; not just boards and cameras, but lighting, application-specific software, and integration support. Intercon Technology has emerged as a showcase account that highlights RVSI's broad expertise.
