Quad-C Management to Acquire QED Technologies from Entegris
Private equity firm Quad-C Management will acquire QED Technologies International from publicly traded entity Entegris, a supplier of advanced materials and process solutions for the semiconductor and other high-technology industries. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
QED, based in Rochester, N.Y., offers state-of-the-art magnetorheological finishing (MRF) polishing and subaperture stitching interferometry (SSI) metrology manufacturing solutions. QED became a wholly owned subsidiary of Cabot Microelectronics Corp. (known as CMC Materials since 2020) in 2006. Entegris acquired CMC Materials last year in a deal that carried a purchase price of approximately $5.7 billion.
Entegris’ QED business operated as part of the company’s Specialty Chemicals and Engineered Materials division. The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2023.
