QCI Looks to Acquire Emotionally Intelligent AI Platform
LEESBURG, Va., May 23, 2023 — Full-stack photonic-based quantum computing and solutions company Quantum Computing Inc. (QCI) has signed a letter of intent to acquire up to 100% of AI firm millionways. The letter follows the teaming and combining of millionways’ AI sensing algorithms with QCI’s quantum photonics computing power. This includes what QCI said is substantive progress made since its initial testing engagement announced last month.
QCI offers quantum computing for real-world business solutions. The company’s full-stack solutions use photonic-based quantum entropy, which can be used anywhere and with little to no training, while maintaining operability at room temperatures and low power. QCI has developed specific quantum applications for AI, cybersecurity, and remote sensing, including its reservoir quantum computing, reprogrammable and nonrepeatable quantum random number generator, and lidar products. Additionally, its wholly owned subsidiary, QI Solutions Inc., supplies quantum technology solutions and services to the government and defense industries.
New York-based millionways’ AI algorithms are used to provide feedback to users on their emotional state and personality insights. The company’s AI platform combines analysis and matchmaking algorithms based on various forms of user-generated text or audio-to-text data with at least 500 words. The technology makes what millionways said are behavioral predictions based on psychological patterns driven by underlying emotions. The technology supports users’ decisions in health care, hiring, and other applications, according to millionways.
Both companies have declared industry firsts in their respective technology areas. QCI claims to be the first-to-market full-stack photonic-based quantum computing and solutions. Millionways said it has created the world’s first emotionally intelligent AI platform.
According to QCI CEO and co-founder Robert Liscouski, the two companies aim to democratize quantum technologies for the benefit of AI developers. “We recognize that the field of AI is quickly evolving and has come under significant scrutiny,” Liscouski said. “QCI and millionways are aligned to demonstrate that the combination of our technologies will be able to ensure the integrity of the output of AI systems and determine if text, speech, or video is fake or real.”
Publicly traded QCI acquired quantum photonics company QPhoton in May 2022, following a business partnership that began earlier that year.
