Pyser-SGI Acquired By Investment Firm
Pyser-SGI Ltd., a manufacturer of electro-optical products for the defense and security, research, education, and broadcast fields, has been acquired by Privet Capital LLP, a London principal investment firm, for an undisclosed amount.
Pyser-SGI employs 70 people in its two Kent facilities, where it produces optical technology products including night vision systems, weapon sights, compasses, small arms collimators and graticules. Its products are used by customers in 100 countries, including the U.K.’s Ministry of Defence and Home Office, the U.S. Army, and a variety of police forces.
Privet's Chris Hyman will join the Pyser-SGI board as chairman, with managing partner Steve Keating as well as Ian Slater and Vardhan Rajkumar joining as nonexecutive directors. Mark Winsbury has been appointed managing director and will also be in charge of production.
"Our focus will be on improving operations and increasing capacity so that we can grow our customer base in British and new international markets," Hyman said. "We are looking forward to helping the team capitalize on its track record and expand the business further."
