PARIS — Welinq, a startup developing quantum interconnects based on neutral-atom technology, has closed a €5 million ($5.4 million) financing round. ST. GALLEN, Switzerland — FISBA, a developer and producer of optical and illumination systems, has entered into an agreement to acquire Gray Optics, a developer of precision optical systems. The move to acquire Gray Optics is intended to expand its engineering and development capabilities in North America. JENA, Germany — Jenoptik concluded a framework agreement with a global technology group at the end of 2022 with a total volume in the upper double-digit euro range and a term of three years. The contract covers the manufacture of complex micro-optical components used in semiconductor production facilities. GLASGOW, Scotland — Vector Photonics has received over £2.4 million of equity investment to further commercialize its all-semiconductor PCSEL (photonic crystal surface emitting laser) technology. Funding was provided by new investors Clean Growth Fund and Scottish Enterprise, with participation from Foresight WAE Technology Funds, UK Innovation & Science Seed Fund, and Equity Gap.
