SALEM, N.H., May 8, 2013 — Diode-based laser modules and LED systems maker ProPhotonix Ltd. will now offer Germany-based Osram Opto Semiconductors’ range of green and blue laser diodes, the company announced on Wednesday.

The product range includes single-mode green laser diodes with 50-mW optical output in the 515- to 530-nm range and 30-mW output power at 510-530 nm, as well as a single-mode blue laser with 80-mW optical output at 440-460 nm. Applications for the green diodes include alignment and targeting for medical, industrial and defense markets, as well as in pico projector and display applications. The blue diode lasers are suitable for many medical and analytical applications.

ProPhotonix Chairman and CEO Mark W. Blodgett said the diodes join the red, IR and blue-violet laser diodes the company currently stocks and distributes from Oclaro, QSI, Sony and Ondax for markets including machine vision, industrial inspection, defense, sensors and medicine.

“In addition, we expect to open up significant new markets which, until now, have been difficult to develop using established technologies,” Blodgett said.
