Powerlase Ltd. of Crawley, UK, and the National Centre for Laser Applications of the National University of Ireland in Galway will collaborate to develop novel techniques for laser-based materials processing for the benefit of the Irish manufacturing industry. Through this research partnership with the academic center, Powerlase intends to promote a broader industry understanding of techniques in materials processing. The company manufactures diode-pumped solid-state lasers for industrial applications.
