Photronics Inc., a Brookfield, Conn.-based manufacturer of photomasks used in semiconductors and flat panel displays, announced it has named Vijay Persaud to the new position of vice president of strategic technology manufacturing. In his new role, Persaud will support the company's recently announced strategic initiatives, including the formation of the MP Mask Technology Center LLC, its joint venture with Micron Technology; and Photronics' plan to build an advanced photomask technology nanofab in North America. Persaud's previous experience in the semiconductor industry includes stints with Advanced Micro Devices, Sematech and DuPont Photomask. Most recently, he served as advanced technology & business development director for KLA Tencor, managing programs with Micron Technology.
