The Photonex03 exhibition, to be held Oct. 8-9 at its traditional venue, Stoneleigh Park in Warwickshire, England, will offer visitors the widest variety to date of optics and photonics technology and applications. For the first time, Photonex03 will be co-hosted with the Imaging Science exhibition, which features vision technologies for industry, defense, medical and research and development communities. In addition to the exhibition itself, Photonex03 offers a technical program of meetings and workshops, including two days of workshops by the Photonics Cluster (UK) and four meetings organized by the Institute of Physics. "Photonex is an exhibition that reaches across many disciplines," said Laurence Devereux, Photonex03 director. "So you can find out everything you need here, from simple optical components to complex instruments, lasers and systems. Examples of applications among many include metrology for investigation of surfaces and lasers for industrial materials processing." "It really is all here under one roof, and Stoneleigh Park is where our exhibitors and visitors have declared that they prefer to come to because it is so convenient," Devereux said. The meetings will include sessions on in-fiber gratings and special fibers, optical environmental sensing, underwater optics, evaluation of long-path optical techniques for real-world applications and interferometry as a measuring tool. Several exhibitors will highlight their thin-film capabilities, including testing and systems. The exhibition is open Oct. 8 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Oct. 9 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, visit: www.photonex.org
