SAN JOSE, Calif., May 20 -- Photon Dynamics, Inc. will begin licensing its MuraLook display defect detection software to Photo Research, Inc., a manufacturer of photometry and colorimetry instruments. Photo Research plans to develop a laboratory version of Photon Dynamics' SpotLite system, which is used in manufacturing facilities to detect blemishes, or mura , in liquid crystal displays (LCDs). We are excited about the opportunity to work with Photon Dynamics, said Francis Dominic, Photo Research's chief executive officer. Our new LCD inspection product incorporates a Photo Research high-precision photometric CCD camera, metrology software and Photon Dynamics' software.
