Waltham, Mass.-based PerkinElmer Inc., a maker of scientific products for health, safety and environmental quality, announced the appointment of Dr. Lapo Paladini to the newly created position of chief marketing officer (CMO) and senior vice president. Paladini previously served as president, Asia Pacific, East Europe, Middle East and Africa and South America for PerkinElmer. Since joining PerkinElmer in February 1982, he has held a succession of management positions, including vice president and general manager, sales and service, Europe, for PerkinElmer Analytical Instruments, and global sales and marketing leader for PerkinElmer Life and Analytical Sciences. Paladini holds a doctorate in industrial chemistry from the University of Pisa, Italy.
