Health sciences and photonics company PerkinElmer Inc. of Waltham, Mass., announced that Vice President and Controller Michael L. Battles has been named interim chief financial officer (CFO). PerkinElmer's current CFO, Jeffrey D. Capello, is resigning, effective June 6. Battles joined PerkinElmer in 2001 as controller for the Analytical Instruments business. Before that he held several positions during 11 years with Deloitte & Touche LLP.
