The shareholders of Carl Zeiss AG appointed Michael Bolle as the supervisory board member to represent the sole shareholder, the Carl Zeiss Foundation. Bolle will be elected chairman of the supervisory board of Carl Zeiss AG in January 2022, succeeding Dieter Kurz, whose mandate as chairman of the supervisory board will end Dec. 31. Giroir served as the 16th assistant secretary for health in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, acting FDA commissioner, and admiral in the U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps. He also served as the U.S. representative to the executive board of the World Health Organization within the Department of State, and he was a member of the White House Task Force and the national lead for testing and diagnostics for COVID-19.
