GLASGOW, Scotland — Vector Photonics appointed Jon Orchard principal device engineer. Orchard will be focused on the company’s PCSEL technology, which it seeks to deploy in next-generation datacom, additive manufacturing, and 3D-printing markets. Orchard has published 18 peer-reviewed articles.

OBERKOCHEN, Germany — Susan-Stefanie Breitkopf will serve as the new head of corporate human resources for the ZEISS Group, effective Sept. 1. She will succeed Franz Donner, who will subsequently work as a senior adviser for ZEISS in a part-time capacity. Breitkopf specialized in labor law before accepting a position with Lanxess AG. She currently works for the Currenta Group, where she serves as labor director and as a member of the management board. Her responsibilities include roles as head of human resources, head of the education business unit, head of corporate development and regulatory affairs, and head of the COVID-19 crisis team.

WENDELSTEIN, Germany — Lens and optical components provider Sill Optics added Bernhard Westerhoff to its sales team as business development manager. Westerhoff has more than 30 years of experience in the sales of optical and electronic products. Most recently he worked at Jenoptik.
