SAN JOSE, Calif. — Lumentum Holdings appointed Isaac Harris, corporate vice president of global supply chain operations for ZT Systems, to its board of directors as an independent member. The election expands Lumentum’s board to eight members. Harris has held a number of senior leadership roles in supply chain operations throughout his career, having previously worked at Cisco Systems and HP.

DITZINGEN, Germany — TRUMPF named Stephan Mayer CEO of its Machine Tools business division. He will succeed Heinz-Jürgen Prokop, who will retire at the end of the fiscal year. Mayer has been with TRUMPF since 2012. Additionally, Marcella Montelatici was named managing director for sales and services for the Machine Tools division. She began the role April 1. Montelatici also manages the European subsidiaries of the TRUMPF Group. She succeeds Reinhold Groß, who has held the position since 2014. Montelatici has been with TRUMPF since 1990.

GRENOBLE, France — Lynred named Jean-Yves Dussaud chief marketing officer. Dussaud previously served as chief quality and risk officer for the company, and in management positions with ULIS, until the merger of that company with Sofradir to create Lynred. Dussaud has served in B2B and B2B2C product manager positions at international firms Rieter and ITW, accumulating seven years of experience in international marketing.

NEWTON, N.J. — Thorlabs has named Peter Fendel CTO. Fendel joined Thorlabs in 2013 as director of its laser division. Under Fendel’s leadership, the division introduced a novel MIR laser-like light source, which earned a Prism Award in 2017. Fendel founded Idesta Quantum Electronics in 2010, which was later acquired by Thorlabs. Fendel has more than 20 years of research and industry experience, including tenures at Menlo Systems and Coherent.

VEJEN, Denmark — Thomas Visti has become part owner of Danish robotics startup WeldingDroid. Visti owns 20% of the company. Founder Kevin Christensen remains majority owner, with 22%. The company has plans for expansion to the United States and Germany and will increase its workforce at its headquarters in Vejen, Denmark.

BAAR, Switzerland — Luca Cavadini now serves as vice president of the aftermarket business unit at Satisloh. He takes over from Werner Kalb, who is retiring after more than 20 years with the company. Cavadini previously managed the Italian sales subsidiary of Pfeiffer Vacuum, after which he led Satisloh Italy beginning in 2004.
