Seeking to capitalize on its longevity in the industry, Photonic Products Group has changed its name to Inrad Optics Inc., restoring its original name.

“The original Inrad organization possessed a remarkable history that began in the formative years of the laser industry,” said Joe Rutherford, CEO of Inrad Optics. “Our new name pays homage to that history and also signifies a bright new future for our organization.”

The company was founded as Inrad Inc. in 1973, and operated under the name Photonics Products Group Inc. until the recent name change. The change was approved at a special meeting of the shareholders held Jan. 18.

A vertically integrated photonics manufacturer, Inrad Optics offers crystal-based optical components and devices, custom optical components for glass and metal, and precision optical and optomechanical assemblies for laser, medical, metrology, aerospace and process control applications.
