Optoelectronics Expert Joins Lumera Board
Kimberly D.C. Trapp, an industry liaison officer at Lehigh University’s Center for Optical Technologies, has joined the board of Lumera Corp., a Bothell, Wash., nanotechnology company that makes molecular structures and polymer compounds for the bioscience and communications/computing industries. Trapp has 23 years of optoelectronics industry experience. Before joining Lehigh in 2003, she was marketing operations director at Agere Systems. Previously, she was responsible for managing and developing the 10 Gb/s lithium niobate modulator product portfolio at AT&T Bell Labs. In 1998, she assumed profit and loss responsibility for Lucent Technologies’ optoelectronics telecommunications product portfolio. She has written more than 30 technical papers and journal publications as well as 20 conference presentations and is a frequent speaker on optics research and optoelectronic technologies and products.
