Delaware-based SW Technology Corp., an affiliate of Synta Technology Corp. of Taiwan, has purchased telescope manufacturer Celestron, acquiring the outstanding members' ownership interests in the company. An optics manufacturer, Synta has been a long-term supplier to Celestron and has been involved in the development of some of its products, including the NexStar GT computerized telescopes. The acquired company, which also produces microscopes, binoculars and spotting scopes, will continue product engineering, development and manufacturing processes from its site in Torrance, Calif.
