A supplier of CCD and electron-multiplying CCD cameras for the life sciences, Photometrics, a division of Roper Scientific Inc., has acquired the assets of Optical Insights LLC, a developer and manufacturer of optical systems for spectral and polarization imaging applications. Spectral and polarization information enhances photometric data, improving the usefulness of detected light in life sciences experiments. The information enables researchers to probe more deeply into biological mechanisms. Both companies are based in Tucson, Ariz.
