Optek Names Allied Electronics as Distributor
Optek Technology of Carrollton, Texas, announced it has added Fort Worth-based Allied Electronics Inc. to its North American distributor network. "With 56 sales branches throughout the United States and Canada, Allied is well equipped to meet the needs of all of our North American customers," said Alan Bennett, vice president of sales and marketing for Optek Technology. While Allied said it will emphasize Optek's visible LEDs, they will carry all of the company's products, including fiber-optic devices, optoelectronic components, magnetic sensors and LED components and assemblies. Allied Electronics is a subsidiary of Electrocomponents plc and also distributes enclosures and cooling devices, power products, switches, relays and controls, as well as prototyping, production and test equipment.
