Ohler to Manage AFM Business for Asylum Research
SANTA BARBARA, Calif., May 29, 2013 — Dr. Ben Ohler has been appointed to the newly created position of atomic force microcopy (AFM) business manager at Asylum Research, an Oxford Instruments company.
Ohler will oversee the Asylum MFP-3D family of products as well as manage the strategic direction, new product development and product marketing for the entire line. He recently led the launch of the company’s MFP-3D Origin AFM.
“Ben brings with him numerous years of AFM and product line management experience which will enable and accelerate our continuing growth,” said President Roger Proksch. His applications background and understanding of researchers’ needs will translate to new products that will help the company expand into new and emerging markets, he said.
Ohler was the product line manager within the AFM group of Bruker (previously Veeco) for five years and an applications and development scientist for eight years. He has several peer-reviewed publications and is a co-author on five patents in the field of AFM.
