The Optoelectronics Industry Development Association (OIDA) has devised a road map for the indium-phosphide technology market. Among its recommendations for streamlining operations, it suggests that optoelectronic device manufacturers develop a common InP foundry model. According to the report, the industry’s communications sector is weighed down by the overhead costs of internal InP fabrication facilities that are no longer financially viable. OIDA will work with its members and the industry to facilitate the development.
