Lumera Corp. of Bothell, Wash., has announced that it has received an order from the Optoelectronics Industry Development Association (OIDA). OIDA administers the Photonics Technology Access Program sponsored by the National Science Foundation and the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency for interaction with Duke University’s Pratt School of Engineering. Working collaboratively with Duke, Lumera will develop optical interconnect and wafer-scale photonic integrated devices using its polymer photonics and fabrication technology. Duke’s integrated micro- and nano-optoelectronic systems will use the modulators as optical interconnects. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
