OFS, a supplier of fiber optic products based in Norcross, Ga., has donated fiber optic cable valued at more than $217,000 to the University of West Georgia in Carrollton. The cable is expected to improve the school’s communications systems. Providing high-speed networking for voice, data and video, it will enable the connection of new building projects and the expansion of the north campus. It has a long life span, is unaffected by electromagnetic noise and enables signals to be transmitted over greater distances without the need for boosting.
