Nikon Instruments Begins Direct Support for Biomed Instruments
MELVILLE, N.Y., Nov. 18, 2010 — Nikon Instruments Inc. has begun direct sales and technical support for its BioScience microscopes, confocal systems and digital imaging products in New Jersey and Puerto Rico. The areas were previously served by Micron Optics.
The company began distribution to these territories on Nov. 1, 2010, following the closing of Micron’s Nikon BioScience Instruments business. The former Micron Optics territory is now directly served by Nikon.
In addition, Nikon will retain Micron’s New Jersey BioScience sales representatives to support customers’ biomedical and imaging requirements. It will provide a base of operations for the new direct sales team, regional sales administration staff and customer service personnel through its US headquarters in Melville.
