Novalux Inc., a solid-state RGB lighting manufacturer based in Sunnyvale, Calif., announced that Hiro Uchida has joined its board of directors. Most recently, Uchida was general manager for Sony’s strategic venture investment department. He has also been vice president of Sony America’s Advance Technology Group, vice president of the company’s Telecommunications Research Laboratory and deputy general manager of Sony’s Hard Disk Drive Div. . . . Lynx Photonic Networks, a photonic switch company with headquarters in Calabasas Hills, Calif., has appointed Domenico Di Mola to the newly created position of director of process and technology. The company says Di Mola will oversee its PLC manufacturing process and also evaluate new technologies as it expands its product offerings. Before joining Lynx, Di Mola served as research and development operating manager for Agilent's optoelectronic component operation in Italy and Singapore. Di Mola will be based in Milan, Italy, where he will also oversee the sale network activities of Lynx-Europe.
