Dalsa Corp., a Canadian maker of digital imaging and semiconductor products and services, announced it has received a contract to develop and deliver custom CCD image sensor chips to an Asian manufacturer of dental x-ray equipment. The contract, which includes custom development and volume production of the chips, is valued at a minimum of CDN $3.6 million and is expected to be completed over the next two years. The image sensor chips will be "eyes" of the customer’s panoramic dental x-ray and cephalometric imaging system, which is used for dental and orthodontic diagnosis and treatment.
