Most recently, Michael was senior vice president of finance and CFO of IXI Mobile, a maker of software and hardware for the cellular market. QuantumSphere Inc. of Santa Ana, Calif., a manufacturer of metallic nanopowders for applications in aerospace, defense, energy and other markets, has named Benjamin Mork as senior scientist and technical liaison. Prior to joining the company, Mork served as staff scientist at Symyx Technologies Inc., where he worked on petrochemical research and high-throughput experimentation technology. . . . Dallas-based Lighting Science Group Corp., a maker of energy-efficient lighting solutions, announced that its president, Stan T. Waldrop, has resigned to pursue other business interests. Waldrop will continue to serve as a company advisor for six months, and Chairman and CEO Ron Lusk will assume his responsibilities. . . . Advance Nanotech Inc. of New York, a provider of financing and support services to nanotechnology entrepreneurs, has appointed three new board members: Bill Milne, head of electrical engineering at the University of Cambridge and director of the Centre for Advanced Photonics and Electronics; Peter Rugg, managing partner of professional services provider Tatum Partners LLP and CPA Virgil Wenger, a former partner in accounting and consulting firm Ernst & Young.
