IRVINE, Calif., May 13 -- Newport Corp. has received orders totaling $1.3 million for its AutoAlign assembly and laser diode burn-in and characterization systems from a major manufacturer of fiber optic components. Newport expects to complete deliveries by June 30, 1999. We continue to be encouraged by the strong demand for our products in the fiber optic communications market, said Robert G.
