Photonics and laser technology research institute Laser Zentrum Hannover e.V. (LZH) has restructured its management team to include a supervisory board, a board of directors and a general assembly of members. Dr. Horst Schrage, chief executive of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Hannover, will chair the supervisory board. Laser Zentrum Hannover has announced a new management structure. Under the new structure, the board of directors now includes two scientific-technical executives, Dr.-Ing. Ludger Overmeyer and Dr. Dietmar Kracht, as well as commercial executive Klaus Ulbrich. Overmeyer is the head of the Institute of Transport and Automation Technology of the University of Hannover in Leibniz (LUH). German scientists and industry executives will make up the newly created Scientific Directorate and the Industrial Advisory Board. Dr. Wolfgang Ertmer of LUH will serve as chair of the Scientific Directorate; Dr. Volker Schmidt of Niedersachsenmetall has been named chairman of the advisory board. As members of the board of directors, the two will work to ensure there is an “intensive exchange of information concerning new impulses from science and business,” the company said.
