Miniaturization technologies provider Tessera Technologies Inc. of San Jose, Calif., has announced that it has licensed its OptiML wafer-level camera technology and ShellCase wafer-level chip scale packaging solutions to Nemotek SA of Morocco. As the first company to license both technologies, Nemotek will provide image sensor packaging services and camera module design as well as assembly for applications including mobile phones, laptop computers, and security and automotive devices. Volume shipments of the technology-based products are expected to begin in January 2009.
