Navitar Purchases Special Optics

Navitar Inc. of Rochester, N.Y., a designer and distributor of optics and optomechanical assemblies for machine vision and digital projection, has bought Special Optics of Wharton, N.J. The latter is a provider of custom optical and electro-optical solutions for markets including semiconductor metrology, laser projection, unmanned vehicles and missile tracking. The acquisition is expected to increase Navitar’s lens manufacturing and volume production capabilities.
