PORTLAND, Ore., May 16 -- Electro Scientific Industries Inc. (ESI) announced an order for eight 1.3-micron laser semiconductor processing systems from Nanya Technology Corp. The systems will be used at Nanya's facility in Taoyuan, Taiwan, in the production of advanced DDR DRAM devices. Shipment will begin during ESI's fourth fiscal quarter, ending June 1, and will be complete by Sept. 30.
