Nanocrystal patents licensed

Evident Technologies Inc. of Troy, N.Y., a semiconductor nanocrystal developer, and Philips Electronics of Andover, Mass., have signed a nonexclusive licensing agreement for the commercialization of nanocrystal-based LEDs. The former company plans immediately to launch a line of low-power LED and LED-based products that use semiconductor nanocrystals as a phosphor.
