MILPITAS, Calif., Jan. 27, 2010 – NanoGram Corp., a manufacturer of advanced materials and solutions for energy, optical and electronic materials, has hired Dave Corbin as chief executive officer.

The company also said that sampling of its silicon ink material has begun at photovoltaic and display plants. Based on nanoscale crystalline silicon particles formulated into inks, its printable silicon material can be ink-jetted or screen printed onto a variety of flexible and rigid substrates. The material is currently being sampled or qualified for printed electronics applications, including flat panel display backplanes and selective emitters for photovoltaics.

The ink is produced using the company’s proprietary laser pyrolysis-based nanoparticles manufacturing process and dispersion systems, suitable for high-volume production.

With more than 30 years of experience with high-tech companies, Corbin joined NanoGram after acting as president and CEO of BrightScale, a video processing chip manufacturer. He also has held management positions at Cooligy (now Emerson Electric), Kovi Inc., Silicon Light Machines (now Cypress Semiconductor) and MIPS Technology.
