Vixar of Plymouth, Minn., has received a Phase II Small Business Innovation Research grant from the National Science Foundation for the development of integrated wafer-scale vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers with heterogeneous lensing. The project is expected to broaden the range of applications for the technology within the industrial, medical, consumer and office product areas.
