In Germany, Carl Zeiss SMT AG of Oberkochen has created a technology development project for low-voltage transmission-electron microscopy. Together with CEOS GmbH of Heidelberg and the University of Ulm, the SALVE (subangstrom low voltage electron) microscopy program will attempt to develop microscopes that will not destroy radiation-sensitive samples.
