MetaStable Instruments Inc. of St. Charles, Mo., has been awarded a Phase I Small Business Innovation Research contract by the Missile Defense Agency. The six-month, $70,000 contract will enable the company to investigate a high-sensitivity technique for measuring light absorption in optical thin films. The research will be managed by the airborne laser program office at Kirtland Air Force Base in New Mexico.
