Fujitsu Network Communications Inc. of Richardson, Texas, a supplier of IT and wireline/wireless networking solutions, announced today that Joe Massery, former vice president of hardware and physical design, has been promoted to senior vice president of development. Massery is replacing Takashi Wakabayashi, who returns to Japan in October to serve as group senior vice president of the photonics group at Fujitsu Ltd. Before joining Fujitsu, Joe was vice president of engineering at several networking companies, including DataPower Technology, Promptus Communications and Interspeed. At Bytex Corp., he led the development of the company’s data switching products, including one of the industry’s first port-switching LAN hubs. Earlier in his career, he held several engineering and management positions at AT&T and Bell Laboratories, where he developed large-scale switching systems, including electronic toll switches, signal transfer point systems and enterprise network management systems.
