MVTec Software GmbH, a machine vision software developer, and Hilscher Gesellschaft für Systemautomation mbH, a developer of industrial communication hardware, announced a partnership to create easier integration of machine vision applications with process control systems. The partnership will result in the bundling of Hilscher PC cards and MVTec software.
For example, the application programming interface (API) of the cifX PC card family, a standardized interface for Hilscher PC cards, allows users of MVTec MERLIC and HALCON to choose from all popular fieldbus and real-time Ethernet industrial protocols, including PROFITNET and EtherCAT.
The companies plan to develop additional machine vision solutions based on their partnership.
