DAYTON, Ohio, Oct. 25 -- Government contractor MTC Technologies Inc., a provider of systems engineering, information technology, intelligence and program management services, announced that the Defense Information Technology Contracting Organization awarded it a potential $8.8 million contract for providing telecommunications certification office support systems (TCOSS) for the Air Force Communications Agency (AFCA).
MTC gets $1.6 million in the first year of the contract, which has options for four more years at $1.8 million per year. The work will be performed at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois, where MTC software engineers will maintain and enhance the multiserver system used for ordering communications components and equipment by Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine, Federal Aviation Administration and other commercial telecoms worldwide.
TCOSS supports Department of Defense (DoD) long-distance communications provisioning and procurement business processes. It is used by AFCA and other DoD agencies to manage over $2.5 billion each year in communications projects.
