The Big Apple this week is home to a trade show devoted to the tools that help doctors diagnose diseases and treat patients. Medical Design & Manufacturing East (MD&M East) is being held from June 8 to 11 at the Jacob K. Javits Center. The Jacob K. Marshall)MD&M East has, since 1983, provided an array of resources for the design and manufacture of both current and next-generation medical devices. More than 10,000 medical product development professionals from the eastern US and key international medical manufacturing centers are expected to attend. MD&M East 2009 conference attendees register on Monday.Organizers expect 750 exhibitors and 9500 exhibition attendees; the associated conference is expected to draw around 300. Total event attendance is estimated to be around 12,000 people. Photonics-related solutions will be on display in the Optics Pavilion, LaserTec and PrecisionTec product pavilions. Colocated with this year's show in the Javits Center will be other industry-related shows, including Atlantic Design & Manufacturing, Automation Technology Expo (ATX) East, EastPack and the Green Manufacturing Expo.
