NEW YORK, June 8, 2009 – The Big Apple this week is home to a trade show devoted to the tools that help doctors diagnose diseases and treat patients. Medical Design & Manufacturing East (MD&M East) is being held from June 8 to 11 at the Jacob K. Javits Center.

MD&M East has, since 1983, provided an array of resources for the design and manufacture of both current and next-generation medical devices. More than 10,000 medical product development professionals from the eastern US and key international medical manufacturing centers are expected to attend.

Organizers expect 750 exhibitors and 9500 exhibition attendees; the associated conference is expected to draw around 300. Total event attendance is estimated to be around 12,000 people.

Photonics-related solutions will be on display in the Optics Pavilion, LaserTec and PrecisionTec product pavilions.

Colocated with this year's show in the Javits Center will be other industry-related shows, including Atlantic Design & Manufacturing, Automation Technology Expo (ATX) East, EastPack and the Green Manufacturing Expo.
